Pray, Pray, and Plead by Chloe Lee

Did God want it?

I prayed, prayed and pleaded.

That here the bloody soldiers will not sit

That the bloodstained groans will not be heard

Their guns… for what?

Their pain… for what?

I can’t grasp it, but I should not reveal my sadness

Just being with them, keeping my calm.

Yesterday, a sound of pain as if falling into hell

Today, a sound of prey crying to escape

Tomorrow, will hope spread its stunning smell?

Then God answered, to hold his hand

Boom! Boom!

Again, a bomb tears my chest,

I still hold his hand, pretending peace.

My brother, my friends

They did nothing wrong

We did nothing wrong

So again

I pray, pray and plead.
