Greed

By Leila Lyu, aged 16

I want to fly

for my dream is

to fly with wings,

with this powerful pair,

I will try my best

to leave my predefined destiny.

I don’t think I will have any regret in my life

because I will try my best.

I want to fly

for my true love,

a reason to leave

this cage I don’t care about.

While blood immerses my white shirt,

the dark eats my loneliness,

eating my ability to love a person.

Away from me

they are eaten and eaten.

I am crying and crying.

They always catch and enclose me

in this supposed cage of love.

They hurt my heart

in name of love.

There is blood

flowing from my fingers

dropping into a stream.

They are making this world:

this world is an endless cage.

Please, help me, help!

I want to fly

To the paradise of heaven

I need to take away all the

Pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust:

the deadly sins

of our human nature.
